This delicious and easy French toast recipe will impress your taste buds…and your friends.
Watch Paul and Nicole make this recipe with several different types of toasts here:
Mandatory Ingredients for 4 Slices of Toast
Croissant Toast bread from Whole Foods (Paul’s favorite) or whatever bread you like
6 Eggs
¼ cup half and half
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Salt to taste
2-6 tablespoons of butter for frying and topping
Optional Ingredients
Powdered sugar
Maple syrup (the best you can afford)
Fruits, like strawberries and blueberries
Breakfast sausage
Eggs, cooked separately, however you like them
Directions
- Put all mandatory ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
- Mix the ingredients with enthusiasm and vigor! Crack the egg yolks. Beat the eggs until the mixture is combined.
- Put 2 tablespoons of butter into a large frying pan. Allow the butter to melt.
- Dip each slice of toast into the egg mixture. Wait for approximately 20 seconds; flip the bread over. The toast should be thoroughly wet and absorb some of the mixture.
- Fry each piece of bread until it is golden and crispy.
- Place on a plate and slather with butter–we love Kerrygold butter.
- Top with a gentle dusting of powdered sugar and handful of berries.
- Pour over some maple syrup.
Enjoy WHILST hot!
